Tim Horton's Community Clean Up Day
Because there's always time to clean up our community.
Community Clean Up Day is almost here. Please make a date of joining us at the Tim Hortons location Marshall Park at Lakeshore Drive for our 8:30 a.m. kick off. From there we will clean up along Marshall Park Drive, the Kate Paceway bike path, Booth Road and the Parks Creek area down to Silver Beach. Tim Hortons will be helping with gloves, coffee and t- shirts as available. We look forward to seeing you there.
Wednesday Night Clean Ups.
Each Wednesday night during June and July we will be picking of garbage at selected hot spots around town. If you or your group can lead a clean up night or if you know an area that needs tackling, please let us know.
Wednesday, June 4 Greater Nipisssing Stewardship Council
Greater Nipissing Stewardship Council has agreed to lead one of the Wednesday night clean ups. Specific location to be confirmed but the Chippewa Creek corridor has been an area of strong support for both clean up and tree planting of previous GNSC efforts.
Wednesday, June 11 Big Brothers Big Sisters International
Big Brothers & Big Sisters will be hosting one of our early June clean up nights. Friends and guests are welcome to help out, please keep watching this site for our specific clean up location.
Wednesday, June 18 Rotary Club of Nipissing
The Rotary Club of Nipissing will also be leading a group of volunteers on a Wednesday night clean up. Final date and location to be advised.
Wednesday, June 25 Nipissing Naturalists
Chair Angela Martin and the Nipissing Naturalists ( no relation to the Camp Norhaven naturalists of Otter Lake fame) will be hosting a Wednesday night clean up. Location and details will be provided as the date gets closer.
Wednesday, July 2 U-Need-a-Cab
John Strang and the staff of U-Needa-Cab have signed up to help for Wednesday, July 3. John & the drivers of U-Needa-Cab will also be looking around town to help with nominations for the Front Yard Garden Contest. Thanks to John, Catherine and all the folks at U-Needa-Cab for pitching in.
Wednesday, July 9
Julie Weir will be organizing staff, friends and some of the persons supported by the North Bay & District Association for Community Living for a clean up night on July 10. " We are hoping to bring staff and supported people together for this night, and families, to show our community spirit and have some visibility within the community." Look forward to seeing Julie and company out cleaning up and more helpers are always welcome. Keep in touch for clean up location details.
Wednesday, July 9
Pulp and Paper Health Safety Association Volunteers will be cleaning up along the McKeown Avenue area starting from their office parking area and working along the street. This is our only volunteer group liscensed to use chain saws, so they may also be able to help if there are any blown downs or brushing needs on McKeown Avenue !
Wednesday, July 16 Rotary Club of North Bay
The Environment Committee of the Rotary Club of North Bay has committed to help clean up a Wednesday night hot spot on July 17. Specific location to be advised closer to the clean up date. Non Rotarians and other volunteer are welcome to help out.
Wednesday, July 23 TD Friends of the Environment
TD Canada Trust staff will be hosting one of this summer's clean up nights. Date subject to final confirmation please keep in touch for details.
