Business Garden of the Week 2010
Friday, 16 July Best Western Lakeshore Drive
Congratulations to Manager Ruth St Phard and her gardening team at the Best Western Lakeshore Drive for winning best Business Garden of the Week. After a poll was taken on Bay Today, with voters choosing from four greathotel gardens on Lakeshore - Super 8, Travelodge & Comfort Inn - Best Western won with best voter support of the gardens.
This is their second recognition from North Bay Blooms and for anyone travelling Lakeshore the hotels gardens definitely stand out. Thank you to Best Western for not only making their business look great but for also making one of the major roadways into the city a little more pleasant for citizens and visitors of our community.
Congratulations and thanks to each of the hotels who participated last week as a combined group of businesses, Lakeshore truly is a beautiful drive into North Bay.

Barclay House Retirement Living Friday, July 2
It was Donna Chaulk's last day at work today, so being recognized for having the "Business Garden of the Week" seemed a great way to celebrate her last day as manager at Barclay House. Desneiges Foisy was also on hand as she oversees the garden areas and helps the residents who may be interested in helping with the gardens or simply wish to sit down and enjoy them. Easily visible from the Highway and a pleasure for all of the residents and visitors, thank you to Donna & Desneiges for making Barclay House and North Bay look great!
McDonald's Lakeshore Drive Friday, 24 June
Jennifer & Rob accept the certificate for Business Garden of the Week from Claude Sharma with North Bay Blooms sponsor Cogeco. Inspite of a few shadflies this week, McDonald's maintain one of the largest and most colourful gardens along Lakeshore Drive, one of the major routes into the city. Rather than pave to the sidewalk they have made the commitment and the investment to make their location and North Bay look great. Professionally maintained by Krista, who tends a number of business gardens around town, thanks to everyone for adding some colour to everyone's Lakeshore commute.
Casey's Bar & Grill Friday, 17 June
Speaking with Terry & Janice Tourigny who own the local Casey's you get a sense of the pride they get from looking after the gardens and landscaping around there restaurant. As of mid June they had actually planted flowers twice to keep up with changing floral seasons and Terry enjoys pointing out the mature maples and cedars they planted as saplings and shrubs years ago.
Again this is a very visible property from the highways and congratulations to Terry & Janice for making not only Casey's look great but also North Bay - great first impressions of the City for anyone driving by.
Comfort Inn, OBrien St. Friday, 10 June
Congratulations to Cathy and her staff at the Comfort Inn on OBrien St at the Bypass for being recognized as our first "Business Garden of the Week" for 2010. Natalie (on right) takes care of a number of separate flower beds that had colour to this hotel that sits in an almost park like setting beside the Chippewa Creek conservation area.
Particularly adjacent to a major highway through North Bay and on a route from the airport to downtown, thank you to the Comfort Inn for making the decision and the investment to make both your place of business and North bay look great!
