Chippewa Creek clean up saturday, may 28, 2011
Donuts just make everything go better! Thank you to Tim Horton's for sponsoring the clean up day and helping with t-shirts for volunteers, a huge tent to keep away the rain and of course - donuts!
McIntyre St E. bridge
A road pylon, a sheet of plywood, some metal
frame, and some corrugated plastic signs were pulled from the creek with an old bike tire.

Oak Street pedestrian bridge
Plastic beverage and food containers comprise most of the litter in this case discarded beside the bike path was a popular choice for many passers by.
John St Bridge
A long way from the nearest grocery store this shopping cart found its way into the creek near John St. A second shopping cart was pulled from the Airport Road area and was still in good enough condition to be returned to the grocer for continued use.
Thomson Park
Ground zero for the clean up was Thomson Park. The tent was donated by Tim Horton's for the day which was helpful given the rainy weather. Thanks to Kiwanis Nipissing, the Aktion Club, Big Brothers & Big Sisters and YES Employment for all helping with volunteers for the morning.
