Wednesday,  May 19,  2010                                     Sunshine Finally Makes an Appearance

Thank you to everyone who pitched in this year - the TOPS ladies, Squadron 101 Sea Cadets and even a couple of Tim Horton's Soccer Team members helped out.     Shopping carts were a popular item with almost seven being pulled from the creek behind the shopping center and Chippewa Creek.  A bed frame, a bike, a car battery and about thirty bags of litter were all cleaned during the evening.
Thanks to Tim Horton's for hosting Community Clean Up day  and providing a few t-shirts, refillable coffee mugs, gloves and bio-degradable garbage bags.

Saturday,  May 8,  2010                                            Community Clean Up Takes a Snow Day

Picture
What happened?  With almost three inches of snow and shopping carts blowing across the parking lot it was a great day to stay indoors even it it was almost the middle of May.   New date to be set but we will probably come back to Northgate for Tuesday, May 19 for anyone interested in helping out.   T-shirts and a few coffee mugs may also still be available.  Thanks to Tim Horton's for trying to get everyone out this Saturday but the wacky weather just wasn't co-operating

Saturday, May 5, 2009                                                                                     Community Clean Up Day

There were lots of helpers and lots of garbage bags last year at the clean up area around Northgate Shopping Center.  Almost 50 bags of garbage were picked up at this area alone with almost 100 bags being picked up around town.  Thanks to Tim Horton's for sponsoring a great community clean up day with gloves and t-shirts for volunteers and especially for organizing a plastic water bottle free eveny this year. By using water coolers, paper cups and reminding everyone to bring re-fillable water bottles, volunteers were able to avoid adding to the litter and recycling collection efforst they made.  Special thanks to St Bryce's Creation Keepers and Big Brothers Big Sisters for helping out with this years clean up. Great job everyone!

Cleaning  up along the Marshall Park area again this year we picked up more tires, two old refrigerators, a bike and dozens of bags of litter.
Thank you to the Rotary Club of North Bay for joining us again this year.

Focus of this years clean up was along Park's Creek and the Marshall Park Avenue area. Shopping carts, tires, and almost 50 bags of litter, thank you to all the volunteers who helped pitch in.

Thank You Tim Horton's

Thank you to Tim Horton's for sponsoring Community Clean Up Day not only in North Bay but all over Ontario and all across Canada.  With t-shirts, gloves and re-fillable coffee mugs to be shared amongst the volunteers Tim Horton's does a great job of encouraging everyone to get out and pitch in for our community Spring cleaning.
