Thank you to all of the judges for their help and we look forward to seeing more beautiful gardens around town this summer.

Thank you Canada Post

Ken Treganza and the Canada Post staff (pictured above) kicked off this summer's Front Yard Garden competition on June 11.

Nominations are made primarily by our community letter carriers but individuals are also welcome to nominate  front yard gardens that help make North Bay a beautiful place to live.  To submit a garden location, please see the Contact Us tab.  Nominations closed June 30th.

Once nominations are in (and last year we had 118 nominations), the North Bay Horticultural Society, led by Geri Openshaw, selected the ten best gardens. The North Bay Master Gardeners then selected the top four.

Criteria for judging will be balance, colour, tidiness and innovation.  A word to the keen - no plastic flowers and make sure you have taken down the Christmas lights ( or anything else that detracts from the gardens attractiveness).

Competition winners will receive gift certifcates from Laporte's Garden Centre, Burrows Country Store and Garden Center and L'Ami's Garden Center.

Good luck to eveyone, we expect the competition this year will again be rootless!
